Crumb to Mama was born out of a love for real food, slow moments, and hands that don’t mind getting a little messy. What began as a simple sourdough starter in a home kitchen quickly turned into a full-blown love story — one loaf, muffin, and bagel at a time.

Every bake is made in small batches, using thoughtfully sourced, organic ingredients whenever possible and a whole lot of intuition. No mass production. No shortcuts. Just fermentation, time, and trust in the process. Every crackly crust and soft crumb holds intention, warmth, and a whole lot of love.

Crumb to Mama is for the ones who romanticize their days, butter their bread thick, and believe that food should feel like comfort. 

From sweet to savory, classic to daring, everything is crafted with care in my kitchen and meant to be shared at your table.

Isabella Fortunato, Owner & Baker 

In 2022, I started my sourdough journey simply because I wanted to bring fresh, homemade, and clean food to my table at home. My house is a rotating door full of the most incredible friends who are always swinging by because they know my saying: “If you come, I’ll feed you”.

I’ve always had a passion for baking and cooking, and I truly believe that memories are made at the dinner table. With two little girls watching me now, I want to show them the beauty of cooking, sharing, and building community! Everything I serve is fresh and made with love from my oven that’s made this little dream of mine possible.

Isabella has talked about this dream for so long, and when she finally texted me that she was starting Crumb to Mama, it was a no-brainer — I dove in headfirst.

I was once awarded a full ride to art school for photography, but life had other plans and I ended up getting my masters degree in forensic psychology and becoming a law enforcement officer. Getting to flex my creative muscles again to design logos/websites, make labels and shirts, help manage orders, and create content behind the scenes has been such a joy!
